We spent our Fall Break in Destin, Florida.
Well, kindof.
We planned to go down on Sunday but changed our plans due to forecasted weather and drove down on Tuesday instead.
On Wednesday, we had the most beautiful day in the turquoise water + sugar white sand. The sunrise greeted us on our family walk and the smiles were instant. We spent hours and hours in the warm gulf riding waves and floating around. Dinner was at Back Porch on the beach and we didn’t walk back until it was dark. We went to bed giddy planning to repeat the day when we woke up.
Around 10:15pm, our phones started going crazy with alerts. We were under a Hurricane warning and evacuation was mandatory. Whhaattt? Long story short, we had to leave by noon on Thursday. Darn Isaias.
I’m still so sad.
I wanted to stay so badly, the weather was gorgeous. But with the double red flags, shops + restaurants boarded up and getting whistled at to leave, it just wasn’t meant to be.
Until next time ocean! XO
