I convinced Rich to go on this trip by saying that all I wanted for Christmas this year was to see the Grand Canyon. And today Santa delivered!
Walking up to the South Rim, tears filled my eyes-- the views were truly incredible. Words and even pictures don't do this wonder any justice, you just have to experience it for yourself.
We hiked (some of) the 13 mile Rim trail and stopped at every look-out we could find. The free shuttle bus got us to Trail view overlook, Yavapai point, Yaki point and we stopped at Desert View watch tower on our way out of the park. Being surrounded by this phenomenal sight for over five hours, I'm embarrassed to say we became accustomed to it, and the views while spectacular, started blurring together. HOWEVER, the time we spent admiring the Grand Canyon was irreplaceable and truly was the best present.
